Just come from having IUD fitted. Much drama when doctor couldn't get it in on the first go. She almost gave up but agreed to try again. I was determined not to go home without one after all that performance... Second try succeeded. Doctor says that was her most technically difficult insertion yet but thanks to much Yoga breathing I was relaxed enough for it to work. Incredibly shocky & wobbly when I stood up though, and feel in need of a lie down. See you all later.

*lies down*

*sighs* the things us women folk have to go through, just to avoid having foul beasts we more commonly call children eh?

And you just had to be awkward too. ;-P

I'm always awkward :D

Apparently long vagina + never had kids is about as difficult as it gets. A lesser doctor would have given up after the first attempt. She and I and the nurse all cheered when the second one succeeded...

Just think of all the fun you will have now. Maybe the rabbit will get a break.

It's getting a break for the next few days, that's for damn sure. Foreign object in there still making me feel rather fragile & sick, but that's normal and about what I expected. Takes a while to settle down.

I hope she made sure the wire was out of the way. I can speak from experience, that it hurts like hell th have it pierce the head, if you know what I mean. Kinda takes away from the whole pleasure part of it.

Eek! I can imagine.

I never really got a look at the thing, but if you mean the cord to pull it out by, it's a nylon fishing-line-like thing and not an actual wire - I did see that much before she cut it off short.

I'll check later. Wouldn't want to bite anyone, after all... (Yeah! I got teeth in there! *lol*)

It is like a fishing line, but feels like a straight pin when it bites. It is supposed to be far enough up so that it doesn't happen. Apparently it was still reachable. BTW, I've never checked for teeth in there before. *new for of foreplay, I guess*

Ugh..IUDs. I would never use one, as it caused heavier bleeding and mine was bad enough (I had endometriosis, really badly.) Plus my sister got pregnant once with the damn thing in her. *grr*

I'm so glad I'm in menopause. Yay for the genes in my family that bring it on a decade earlier than usual. :)

Glad you got it done finally. I would have been annoying to have gone there and left and had to come back to try again.

Getting cervix dilated, however briefly. OWIES!!!!

This particular one - the Mirena (http://www.womens-health.co.uk/mirena.asp) - has a low dose of hormones impregnated in it that should make periods lighter or disappear altogether. That was a big part of my reason for choosing it.

Yeah, I wish to hell I was having an early menopause too...
