I gots me a webcam!

It looks like a big blue eyeball, and there's a glint of ominous red light in its depths when it's switched on, and it's perched on top of my monitor. And I had no trouble installing it either.

santaman - thank you so very, very much. You completely rock and I will love you forever.

I also have a date, or at least I will do once he calls back this evening to decide when and where. It occurs to me that, while I've had sex with people, lived with people, hung out with people and been married, I've never actually been on a "date" before. It makes me faintly worried... perhaps there are rules and conventions I don't know about? Perhaps I should know about them?

And then I think, what the fuck. I've never been particularly concerned about rules before, why should I start now? I'll just be me and try and have fun and be fun. I'm good at fun.

And speaking of fun, we had a good moment in the park yesterday. I don't let young Peeves off the lead very often - most of his exercise is on the long line or long walks on the lead - but I took the pair of them to the park yesterday. And he was perfect. He kept his attention on me. He did not at any point piss off in mid-fetch to lose the ball hunting through hedges for fictional foxes - well, only the once, and do you know what? I called him and he stopped in his tracks and came pelting back.

Ladies, gentlemen and my friends list - we are winning!!!

I was more pleased with him than I think I've ever been before. I jumped up and down and made happy squeaky noises while he did the Happy Dance around my feet. And then I did the same for Spike, because he's always good and he deserves it just as much - he's been a hero since I got Squish, especially since he liked being an only dog and learning to share me has been hard on him. They are my beautiful black and white boys, and even on the days when they make me feel as though I'm trying to keep two too many plates spinning at once, I love them more than my life.
