Don't need a weather man to know which way the wind blows

Took the dogs out in the pissing rain to play ball. They feel better, but getting wet seems to have made Squish all overexcited. He's chasing his tail on the couch like an idiot, bless his heart.

The flat stinks of wet dog. Bizarrely, Squish's plastic clothesline smells of fox piss when it gets wet. With the first one I thought I must have trailed it through fresh fox piss in the grass, but I don't see that happening twice, there aren't that many incontinent foxes round here. Must be the plastic.

Have resisted making a second pot of coffee up till now, but I may be about to surrender. I usually do.

Wet dog, let alone fox, is one of the most 'wonderful' scents in the world. How it has escaped bottling by Avon is a mystery to me.

My three hate to go out in the rain - they take one look out of the door then refuse to move. I have to literally drag them out.

Sometimes I wish I had real hounds instead of lapdogs!

I believe it's an acquired taste. I love the scent of my clean wet healthy dogs... they have such beatiful coats, a lady who remarked on it the other day said "you must shampoo them a lot"... in fact, I never wash them at all unless they roll in fox crap. Spike hasn't been shampooed in two years and Squish never - I just feed them properly, it makes all the difference.

Fox is nice to smell outdoors - it'd be a bit much in the flat, I think.

Show them a wild rat and you'd see some real hound behaviour quick enough, I'll bet...

Heh. Show them a fluffy toy rat and you get real hound behaviour, now I think about it. It's hard enough to stop them practising on the cats at times!

Bless 'em, they just like their home-comforts. We keep joking we'll buy little sou'westers etc for them!

I've got a cheeky request that I may post to all my friends...
Mind taking a look? I'll post it to you via my 'liz' filter.
