This is very true. My Border Collie (pictured) is especially good at it, and I have experienced it with humans as well; huntingdon and I do it regularly in a platonic sort of way.

Really, though, at the time I was just thinking of a particular person whose mental inbox I'd have been flooding that night. Probably just as well one can't automatically do it at will.
