I was losing time, I had nothing to do - no-one to fight, I came to you

This will be a somewhat random and disjointed entry. There are a lot of little things, with no central theme. There are a couple of bigger, unrelated things that I can't really write about.

There's one big (to me) thing that I could, and want to, write about, but instead I choose to be cryptic. The horse I believed to have been dead unexpectedly kicked his heels up and galloped round the paddock on Thursday and Friday. I still can't ride him - and likely never will - and that hurts, even though I have a stable to choose from. But it does my heart good all the same.

And I believe I may have ridden this horse metaphor into the ground for good and all - so, time to change horses in mid-stream and go on to a horse of a different colour...

*chuckles*

Two mornings running now, Squish has woken me at an unearthly hour of the morning because he had the runs and needed taking out urgently. I was getting worried. I'm less worried now since he didn't have the squits when I took him out this afternoon. I'm taking Spike in for a routine health check tomorrow - if Squish has another runny one in the morning I may hijack Spike's appointment for Squish instead.

Apart from that - eh, nothing much.

I looked over at Spike on the couch and he was lying on his back with his legs in the air and his head dangling over the edge, his tongue lolling out. I reached for the camera - oh, ever so very stealthily - but this is the dog who can pinpoint the exact whereabouts of a sleeping cat upstairs when he's standing downstairs - and he was on his haunches looking me in the eye before I'd so much as touched it. Nothing, but nothing gets past him, and I think I'll have to wait until he's in his teens and deaf before I ever get a photograph of him relaxed and unaware.

I've promised Henry that I'm going to crack on and finish my beta-read/edit of Terran 6 tonight, and I promised I'd switch all my IMs off at five and get on with it. And it's high time I did, I've been sitting on it half done for far, far too long.

Of course, this means that everyone has messaged me at five minutes to five... eeeek!!!
