I love playing around with LJ tags. I just created a new one, and I'm gambling that the person it refers to will a. know exactly who he is, b. see this and comment and c. get exactly why I chose that particular phrase.

Love you, still. *evil grin*

P.S. I mistyped that as "evil groin" the first time round. *smirk*

I was reminded twice yesterday that I've not made an LJ entry for over a week. Well, I could make excuses - I'm saving myself for Blogathon at the weekend and Spike and his tuggy have done for one of my wrists - both of those would be true, but they're not the real reason. The real reason is that I'm caught in the grip of an obsession that isn't leaving much time, mental energy or typing strength over for anything else.

I'm sorry. I still love everyone. But it's so damn good.

Besides, you'll have more than your fill of me over the weekend. I'm slightly dreading the Blogathon, but I'm certainly not ducking out. And I take this opportunity to beg you, prettily and impassionedly (is that a word?) to sponsor me. Pleeeeeease!

Oh, and there was the new Harry Potter. I'm saving my typing strength, so if you want to know what I thought of it, go read [livejournal.com profile] toft_froggy's review here. Spoiler-heavy, obviously.

Other things that I am infatuated with right now: 1. Captain Tractor. (official band website with sound.) Particularly this track, which is this entry's soundtrack. I urge everyone to listen to them and buy their stuff. Also, if I get at least three more sponsors for Blogathon, I will make a voicepost of myself singing their best-known song, "The Last Saskatchewan Pirate". (Or, if you'd rather, you can bribe me not to. I win either way.)

2. Russell Crowe. Not only for the obvious reasons (sex on legs, snarky bastard, did not make a pig's ear of playing one of my favourite fictional characters ever) but for random acts of kindness and for ...reasons both too convoluted and too nerdy to explain in a public entry. Anyway, I luff him.

...also, there's someone I need a mailing address for. Because I mean it about needing to show you Doctor Who. There's a particular storyline I'm thinking of, where the character with the highly varied past falls in love with the golden-haired girl who brings things to life and the man who's worth the monsters; but I am absolutely certain you would love all of it.

Calling [livejournal.com profile] peladon, Bill and maybe [livejournal.com profile] watervole too - do you recall the saga of Dorian di Chrysaetos and Jehanne de Valerian?

I still refuse to use her married name. That marriage was annulled, and I was furious when the newsletter referred to her as Jehanne Morgan when they printed our obituaries - ironically, on the same page as our marriage announcement. Damn them, our marriage was the legal one, short as it was... I'd have protested, but for being dead and all.

I'm back in the roleplaying saddle, that's all, and seeing certain parallels. It makes me want to reminisce. I wish to hell I still had the love letters I wrote her. I wish I hadn't destroyed so many brain cells in the intervening years.

Apologies to the 98.9% of the f-list who have no idea what I'm talking about and care less. I'll try not to do it again.

oh wonderful.

Not only do I feel like something I'd scrape off the bottom of my shoe, I'm now being attacked by rampant paranoia. Lovely. Just fucking lovely.

Sometimes, boys and girls, they really are out to get you.

A little while ago I did something thoughtless on impulse that hurt someone I cared about. I was afraid that I'd carelessly, unintentionally broken a friendship that meant - and still means - one fuck of a lot to me.

Today when the mail dropped through my slot I found that true friendship can take a licking and come back kicking.

I'm playing this song and thinking of you. Love you.

[livejournal.com profile] saintrobert - you know who and what I'm talking about. I'm afraid the rest of you will just have to keep wondering.

*grin*

In other news, am going to the naughty spa with [livejournal.com profile] topbit today. I'm wondering what it will be like going somewhere like that with someone I'm in love with. Rather different from going alone or with a friend. I still intend to have an extremely good time... it's just a little odd. Will report on it later, as fully as I'm allowed to.

The thing that I thought was upsetting me is not the thing that's upsetting me. Don't ask me. It's not you, it's not anything that's happening or anything anybody's saying or doing, and it's not likely to affect anyone who's involved in my present life.

[livejournal.com profile] peladon - I need you. You may want to get me on an IM of some sort rather than ramp up your phone bill as well as your laundry. I can do it perfectly well via text - in fact, I think I'd rather - but I need you. Doesn't have to be now, or today, but I need you.

Old wounds run deep and some never heal. I just had a sharp reminder of that.

I'm leaving this post public as an explanation for why I may not be available to anyone else on IM.

Whoever first coined the phrase "to travel hopefully is better than to arrive" was a blithering idiot.
