Handy Household Hints from Black Dog HQ: denture soaking tablets are better at toilet-cleaning than toilet cleaner. There was a nasty discoloured patch on the bottom that the limescale-dissolving blue stuff wasn't shifting, but it's gone now. The tablets only cost 30p for a tube of thirty, too.

I know diet Coke's supposed to work as well, but I don't have the foul stuff in the house. The toilet cleaner would probably taste better.

I'm almost the least houseproud person I know but I do hate to have a nasty toilet...

They really are kindred spirits, aren't they?

The other way that Squish helps is by forcing me to keep the floor clear of inedible plastic clutter, because he will eat it anyway - I'v caught him trying to eat plastic bottle caps, sponges, corks and my mother's hair curlers, and he once ate an entire bar of soap before my mother wised up and learned that bathroom doors need to stay shut with a Squish about.

Thank goodness Maggie doesn't eat plastic, or it'd be all over. The only non-food item she really ingests is wood and I'm guessing that's reasonably useful in digestion. :)

Fortunately, he's never really swallowed plastic things, just destroyed a few - that may be because I've watched the lil' bugger like a hawk and provided lots of bones ever since I got him. His previous owners lost a couch, several dog beds, a telephone, a set of dentures and a whole bunch of kids' toys so I was forewarned about the chainsaw jaws.

Spike's the one that likes wood here, but (barring a lapse with the banister rail at Mum's house when we hadn't had him very long) he knows that only outdoor wood is acceptable chewingstuff.
