Who could sleep through all that noisy chatter

spent half the evening with icepacks on both wrists after tripping/getting pulled over this afternoon and coming down heavy on the tarmac. did not let go of the leashes. the scrapes still sting somewhat but thankfully the ice cut out the worst of the bruising - I really thought I wouldn't be able to use either wrist or my left knee for a while there.

there are kittens EVERYWHERE. racing round the floor, pouncing on the dogs, wrestling each other, wrestling Cassie, climbing up the walls, doing the kitten version of the weasel war dance, falling in the dogs' water bowls, climbing up my legs. Spike is getting dizzy trying to keep up, Squish has wisely decided to just lie down and watch the fun and Cassie is alternating between being Protective Mum and remembering that she's still a kitten herself and joining in the wrestling and pouncing games.

I have tried to take a few pics but they're all just moving too fast. I got a few shots of blurred animal parts and gave up. If they'd only do this during daylight hours I'd get you a video but the mass zoomies seems to be an evening thing.

I had a completely different entry composed in my head, all about man belly and the tactile qualities of dogs' ears, but I can't write a damn thing in the middle of this fucking zoo.

it's SO MUCH FUN!

Ha! Last time I had a kitten I was looking for a job. I'd show up to these interviews with little scratches all over my hands and arms, feeling like some kind of freak. "What, this? Was I in a car accident? Do I cut myself? Am I an escapee from cooking school? No, I have a kitten."

Sounds wonderful.

I'm torn between loving every second of it and just wanting my life and my bedroom back, to be honest. It'd be different if I'd signed up for kittens... I was just going to have one young-adult cat.

but, you take what the universe gives you, I guess. I can't say I regret them and I know I'll miss them like hell.
