Hollow and of no use

Everything is open

Nothing is set in stone

Rivers turn to oceans

Oceans tide you home

Home is where the heart is

But your heart had to roam

Drifting over bridges

Never to return

Watching bridges burn

You're driftwood floating underwater

Breaking into pieces, pieces, pieces

Just driftwood, hollow and of no use

Waterfalls will find you, bind you, grind you

Nobody is an island

Everyone had to go

Pillars turn to butter

Butterflying low

Low is where your heart is

But your heart has to grow

Drifting under bridges

Never with the flow

And you really didn't think it would happen

But it really is the end of the line

So I'm sorry that you've turned to driftwood

But you've been drifting for a long, long time

Everywhere there's trouble

Nowhere's safe to go

Pushes turn to shovels

Shovelling the snow

Frozen you have chosen

The path you wish to go

Drifting now forever

And forever more

Until you reach your shore

You're driftwood floating underwater

Breaking into pieces, pieces, pieces

Just driftwood, hollow and of no use

Waterfalls will find you, bind you, grind you

And you really didn't think it would happen

But it really is the end of the line

So I'm sorry that you've turned to driftwood

But you've been drifting for a long, long time

You've been drifting, for a long, long

Drifting for a long, long time

This is like my theme song. The story of my life in under four minutes.

In other news, my dogs are howling to go out and play, my knee just made me yawp out loud with pain getting up to put something in the bin, and I have to go to my sister's this evening because it's her birthday.

someone make it stop. just make it stop.

The only song they really ever played in the states was Why Does it Always Rain on Me and Side of their next album. Coldplay sort of appeared around the same time as Travis, and everyone here liked Coldplay more, I guess.

When I was first diagnosed with cancer, I was supposed to be dead in a year (they thought it had spread to my lungs.) I locked myself up and listened to certain albums a lot, and I had to take a few songs off my playlist because they still bum me out a lot. I don't know why, but being emo makes me want to listen to those songs specificly and make myself feel worse.
I'm glad the dogs made you feel better. If I can get to a scanner today, I'll post some preliminary sketches of pirate dogs (I'm having an issue with Spike. He looks a little too simmilar to Chalupa.)

I'm glad you didn't die. Don't do it any time soon.

yeah, Travis are perfect for that. I don't know what it is with Coldplay, I can't stand them.

I don't like Coldplay much, either. I don't get why they're so popular..
I'm glad I didn't die, too. My tumor was 5 or 6 years old, and it really was crazy that it didn't spread. If it is,in fact, coming back (and I'm pretty convinced. The suspicious lump is turning purple, and that's a characteristic trait) it's highly unlikely to kill me if I treat it fast-like(95% survival rate. woo)

I came up with this possible Spike that looks kind of like a scruffy wolf/crocodile kinda thing...I don't know if I will use it

I think of his more as the dashing smooth type, with his sideburns and his big swashy tail... I'll trust you, though. I've always liked everything you've done.

He has to have a degree of scuffy, he IS a pirate, after all...but kind of a classy scruffy, since he's the captain...He's a bit more difficult then the others.

It's pretty close to his thinking too. It makes him fun to live with.

I couldn't get to a scanner today, by the way (I was still paying off medical bills, rats got sick, I was still sickish, pawned all my good computer equipment, still recovering from this, meh) buut I'll try to get it online soon. You get to approve anything I eventually use.

it kills me to think of you struggling to pay for being sick. I know life isn't fair but - fucking hell!

[identity profile] danasaur.livejournal.com 2006-12-15 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
It happens. I've managed pretty well, considering :) I just wish I still had good computer equipment.
