The girls bowled over by the handsome dashing soldiers
Yeah, it's another cat-based post. Forgive me. This is still a bit of a novelty. The urge to chronicle every bowel movement and twitch of her whiskers will wear off soon enough, I'm sure.
The good news: I found someone doing low-cost local spays. That'll be my first call tomorrow morning then. Fingers crossed, people!
The other good news: She ate half a raw chicken wing this morning, and we spent two hours this afternoon with all four of us snuggled on my bed together. Cassie was sprawled on her back, relaxed and purring, with Spike's nose two inches away from her. She still growls and wallops any dog that moves too fast or gets too intrusive, and the dogs still do that, but we're doing much better than I expected so soon. I didn't get pictures this afternoon, but I do have a few:
Spike stares and stares and stares, and when the excitement gets too much he prods her with his nose. That makes her try and scratch him, which seems to make him happy. He's actually nimble enough that he has no marks on his nose yet - either that or she's not really trying. Squish - not so much with the staring. He wants to lick her face and play with her and sniff her and sniff her and sniff her. He gets frustrated and whines and yaps at her.
