This entry is especially for

I live round the corner from an enormous shopping centre and as it's squarely between my flat and my Mum's house, I regularly short-cut through the lower deck of its car park on my way to and from there. The car park includes a number of ornamental flower beds, complete with bushes and small trees - and these are a regular roosting place for large numbers of pied wagtails.
Last night, I finally managed to take a reasonable picture of them. It's not great, but at least you can see what sort of birds they are, and if you imagine five or six more trees and a large bank of low bushes full of them and add in drifts of them skittering over the tarmac, you can see why I enjoy walking back from Mum's on Sunday nights. Especially when Spike sticks his head into a densely-populated bush and makes them all fly out.
Also, there's a green woodpecker who's been visiting the lawn at the back of our flats on a regular basis. I'm not going to try and photograph him - I can't get close enough for the camera to give me anything but a green blob indistinguishable from the grass - but it's still a fun thing to see while I walk the dogs. He's rather fearless for a yaffle and if I stop to look at him for too long he glares at me instead of flying away.
In other news, great sex apparently cures the common cold. Who knew?

Naturally - it raises the body temperature ;) A brisk 5 mile run has the same effect. If it doesn't kill you. :D
