it's SO hot. I think I'd be dead without my fan, but it has a dehydrating effect - I have a wet T-shirt on and I keep having to mist my face with water and I keep getting thirstier. I'm on my fourth litre of liquid.

Ha! Pretty much. Callette and Shona always want to shove forward, Flury (tabby, who's definitely a boy) just does whatever he was doing and doesn't care, and Elda hides.
kittens are so cute. The tabby looks like my cat did when he was small. He is 22 pounds now and he is not fat, just really big. BTW, it was 47 degrees celsius today. That was in the shade. I know how much you love warm weather.
So, I was sitting here, being good and working on stuff that I'm supposed to be working on, not really thinking about anything at all and all of a sudden I got an urge to leave you a message and suggest that you put a bowl of ice (assuming that you have ice) in front of your fan. It'll blow cooler air and most likely make the air less dry.
So there goes my effort to pretend to be a responsible adult while at work.
...You know, I have no idea. I'll make noises at her next time I feed them and check.
It never occurred to me. I do know that Border Collies and ferrets with particular patterns of whiteness (notably, white ears) are predisposed to deafness, but with cats I always vaguely thought it was just the pure white ones.
They all jumped when I squeaked at them last night, so yeah, not deaf. I had a feeling it was just the pure whites. In dogs it's the ones with white ears that are at risk for deafness, and she doesn't have white ears anyway.
They're all far too cute to handle! Shona so makes me think of "The Subtle Knife", cos she's got the colour I always imagine dhis cat to be.. if that makes sense!
