cottonmanifesto got her old pictures online by photographing them, so I tried it with some that I found at Grimmauld Place last time I was there. She has a better camera than I do and knows how to work its settings properly so these aren't as good as hers - but here they are.

Scampi and me - 2
Camilla
This is not just any old Redtail. This was my Redtail. There were hundreds of pictures of her; this is the only one I have left.
John and me
This is an unblurry as I could get it. Still blurry.
I didn't lose that many pictures of him, because he was mostly behind the camera. But there were some brilliant ones of me with Camilla - Wales, the New Forest... *sigh*
I am looking at them feeling a little sad and nostalgic, and they aren't my photos, and I don't really even have context. They are gorgeous pics. I like this about LJ, that people out there in the world are stories unfolding. I guess I get that from face-to-face friends too, but there is something kind of magical from the sharings that happen online.
I thought the post where I'd told Camilla's story was in the comments of one of Ramona's old entries, but I forgot I'd written it here during Blogathon: http://lizblackdog.livejournal.com/290845.html
I must get that pic scanned properly so I can make an icon out of it.

Scampi was my old dog who died in 2003 - John is my husband who died in 1999. Scampi saw me through some very bad times.
Camilla goes back a lot further than that, I had her from 1988 to 1995. I thought she'd died in '96 but it's possible she didn't - long story.
posting them has knocked me a bit off-centre.

Lovely photyos by the way.
And an excellent idea for digitizing them.

Too bad there isn't a scanner that works straight from the brain.
