Even though it might be love in vain

From [livejournal.com profile] pointyhairedone: If money was no object, nor such piddly things as passports, visas and permits - if you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose, and why?

I'm torn. My favourite place in the whole world is the Lleyn peninsula in North Wales, specifically the stark reed, rabbit and sand-dune landscape around Fort Belan. Everything about that place suits me down to the ground; the climate, the locals, the sea, plus it's handy for fun places like Portmeirion.

On the other hand, there's the Falkland Islands, there's Canada, there's New Zealand, and there's all the people I want to be able to visit; though admittedly most of them live in climates that would kill me. My best solution to all that would be to have my own TARDIS. I think even if I did, I'd likely keep it mostly parked in North Wales, though.

if you read this, tell me where you would like to live. And ask me more questions, please!

I'm lucky enough that I already live here.

Smug much? :D

So would I be. Where you live would be VERY high on my list of choices... North Wales only beats it because of being Welsh.

I want to live everywhere, with a jet to take me place to place.
My cat travels well.

Speaking of Tardis, did you ever see the Bashir/Dr Who crossover macro I linked for you?

I'm fairly sure I did, but I can't call it to mind at this moment. My brain = porridge.

i like the tardis idea.
there are places in history i would like to visit but not live there.

as for here and now..
dauphin island , along the gulf coast but in a house boat so i could flee ahead away from a hurricane.

and spend time in europe ect..

Oh, Gods, I don't know. I'd have to live in all of the following places and then decide which I like best:

Belize (for scuba diving, barrier reefs, the Blue Hole *points to icon*, caves, rainforests, Mayan ruins, white sand, the ocean, birds, warm weather, and beautiful people wearing swimsuits)

Vancouver (for rainforests, rain, the ocean, universal health care, human diversity, and general liberalism of culture)

New Zealand (for wilderness, friendly people, Maori, the ocean, and these reasons are developing a common thread or three)

Hawaii (for rainforests, waterfalls, rain, the ocean, scuba diving, surfing, volcanoes, Goddess worship, beautiful people in swimsuits, and the culture)

Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada (for Lake Superior, proximity to home and friends, scuba diving, universal health care, northwoods, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area more or less nearby, and thunderstorms)

There's probably more places I'd happily live, too.

hawaii. its beautiful there. the weather is awesome, and theres so many interesting green growy things that i'd never seen before. and i loved watching the ocean. its just so beautiful.

i'd like to see new zealand, but having never been there i'm not certain if i'd like to live there.

You lucky, lucky bastard. Take lots of pics, especially of the view from the tower with the armillary sphere on it.

Will do, assuming I survive descent of Snowdon
