When did he say that?

I press the buttons on every crosswalk I pass, regardless of whether I'm actually crossing.

Well, I may be intentionally misquoting him. I'm unreliable that way.

I do something similar with automatic doors. I like waving my hand imperiously and seeing them fly open. XD

They are very good... sort of like sweet ice. And healthy too.

As a kid, I used to be so afraid of snakes, that the mere picture of one would cause me to burst into tears (a fact that was not lost on the bullies in the class).
I got over it as i got older, especially while I was dating [livejournal.com profile] eatstoomuchjam since he owned a 6 foot boa constrictor named biscuit.

Ah, ouch!

I'm good with snakes and spiders. But large flying beetles, millipedes and centipedes freak me to the point where I have to swiftly click the back button if I come across photos of them online. *shudder*

[identity profile] mcsassypants.livejournal.com 2007-11-19 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm okay with most bugs, unless it happens to be a centipede in my kitchen sink. Then, I'm less than pleased.
It may have something to do with the fact that Christina is my mighty huntress and gets the bugs for me. Also, she talks to her prey.

i've broken my front tooth in the same place more than 10 times. the first time, i was playing 'trust' and was blindfolded and the person leading me told me to turn left so i did, right into a wall. the last time it broke was on a piece of sourdough bread at a fancy restaurant. i balk at the idea of having to pay $600 for a half a tooth that will just break off again because of something stupid (i NEED to eat, ffs) so i just left it. it's been about 10 years since the last time and my tooth is just fine, thank you.

Teeth just really, really suck, don't they? We need a better system.

[identity profile] cottonmanifesto.livejournal.com 2007-11-19 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
well, other than that stupidity, mine have served me very well! they are fucking expensive though!

I am so afraid of bees that I can't even stand the sight of a picture of one...at a family picnic, my own father chased me around the table with a dead bee. If one gets into my apartment, I have to get one of the neighbor kids to come get it out....

eewwwwwww!

[identity profile] lizblackdog.livejournal.com 2007-11-19 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
...I am all right with bees, but there are some insects that get me that way - centipedes, millipedes and cockroaches in particular. I have a bad time with maybugs too.

My first job was at the worlds bussiest MsDonalds when I was 15. It was my job to stand out by the road, waving to cars while dressed like The Hamburgler. I was eventually promoted to fry cook.

I'm so glad they promoted you XD

My first paying job was a part time waitress, but the one I always think of as the first was working for [livejournal.com profile] watervole, helping moderate a postal role-playing game. That was awesome.

True :)

I have very narrow feet.
ext_15855: (Default)

[identity profile] lizblackdog.livejournal.com 2007-11-19 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Aha!

I have very wide ones, probably because I grew up in warm places and never wore shoes except for school.

[identity profile] dumain.com (from livejournal.com) 2007-11-19 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I have very short thumbnails (as in much wider than they are long).

No, but I cut them short as its easier to keep them clean that way.

"Starfish are a very misunderstood vegetable." - Attributed to Benjamin Sisko.

My DS9-fu is saying early Season 3, the episode where we find out about Dax's serial killed host, the name of whom is completely escaping me?

And if I were to have any sort of superpower, I would want to fly.

[identity profile] lizblackdog.livejournal.com 2007-11-19 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
You win the Internets.

I have distinct memories of learning to fly as a child. Rationally, I know they must have been dreams or fantasies, but I don't remember them that way. I recall very clearly how it's much harder than it looks to gain height when you're new at it.

yep... it wasn't Field of Fire, that was Joran's second appearance... what the hell was it?

I could look it up, sure, but that would be too easy!

[identity profile] mudshark58.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
There were three, actually. The one with Dax communing with all of her former hosts and Sisko sitting in for Joran (creepy!) was in the middle. The first one was an early Dax ep, started with an "E"...

(had to look it up)"Equilibrium" -- and is the source of the "misunderstood vegetable" line.

every surgery i've ever had involved removing something.

so far i'm minus:
my appendix, omentum, and a little bit of intestine.
a cyst that filled my sinus cavity, plus some of my septum
4 impacted wisdom teeth
a biopsy of my cervix
a mole from my upper lip

That's a lot of parts!

I've had all my teeth out, and my tonsils as a child, but I've got all my other bits. Even the ones I'd rather do without. (Uterus, I'm looking at YOU.)

[identity profile] yesididit.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
oh my god i would PAY them to take out my uterus and ovaries. life would be so much smoother. but i'm only 30, have no kids, and have no physical reason for them to take that shit out other than it makes me psycho and it hurts me and i hate it and i'm not going to have kids.

Onto the windshields of other moving cars.

Whenever I am walking, I coordinate my steps so I avoid stepping on cracks. This includes dividing points in tile flooring; I hate walking on tile that consists of squares too small for me to avoid stepping on the dividing lines.

This has nothing to do with "step on a crack and break your mother's back." It's just my brain, and something to occupy it with placing my steps.

Only occasional?

It's always something winged, with me.

Well, I think about it fairly often - and it's why I'm highly enjoying RPing werewolves with Angel lately - but the mental exercise of imagining the details I don't go over as much as I did as a late teen. I even go so far as to think about what a great way to lose weight and get into shape, since a canine has a much higher metabolism than us humans, and I'd only need to run around the neighborhood for an hour or so a night...when no one else is around, of course, so I can just enjoy sticking my nose into things and looking at the world a whole new way.

I have a strange suspicion that I caught Vincent D'Onofrio's character's speech rhythm from watching too much Law & Order: Criminal Intent. And that it makes me sound insane. :X

I've adopted ways of walking and holding myself from TV characters before... it might be insane but you aren't alone, certainly.

I have a great fear of being alone. Even sitting in the house for an hour and knowing no-one else is here freaks me out.

Oddly, I'm okay if a stranger is around (plumber or something), or if someone is asleep in another room.

[identity profile] lizblackdog.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't fear being alone, but I am currently very, very, very fed up with it. I am spring cleaning so that I'll feel able to have people in my house. I need it so badly right now.
