Not actually any manner of finished thing, but... There are actually about three lines of this that are the way I want them. Fuck knows why I'm attentionwhoring it anyway. Hello, masochist.
I'm tempted to say something really smart$ss and off the wall like 'There does not appear to be any fornication occurring in this art.' As a sketch, nice work. Could well be something on the way to a final image and only part of this makes the transition.
i am not good at finishing things and may well never do it. But I'm moderately pleased with it even as it stands; it shows that I've lost less of my mojo than I thought I had.
Yes; I spent a long time trying to learn how to draw and paint realistic, and ...well, I did manage to do it sometimes, but I certainly couldn't now, with all the rust not flaked off yet. Mythical's kind of my default mode.
I like it. Beautiful impressions of motion, and I like the difference in detail in the talons and head compared to the wings . . . it really looks good right at this point, complete as simple lines, sorta reminiscent of Chinese ink paintings, the simple compositions of the Southern School.
It kinda looks like it should be drawn 4x5 to 8x10 inches big, somewhere off-center in a 5'x6' or so piece of paper, in a simple frame, with a four-figure price tag attached.
Chinese ink painting style is very much what the finished version in my head looks like. I grew up with a set of three Chinesey horse paintings on my bedroom wall, and I think they imprinted me.
Not that this means i'm any more likely to ever finish it than the million and one other things I haven't finished, but I am an optimist, and I love you for this.
's a gorgeous sketch! I know all about not finishing even promising sketches, I have a big stack of what are essentially just doodles lying around, but if you do finish this it'll look fantastic. (g)
