Yesterday a person two of my friends loved died suddenly. This isn't about her, or about the husband or the friends that loved her. I never knew her (which strikes me as a great pity) and it's not my place.

But I've been there. I walked out of my front door a wife and walked back in a widow. It kills me to know someone else is going through that. It echoes back along the lines of shared friendship and hits me hard in my own most broken place.

Go and give someone some love and kindness today - for me, for everyone whose world is etched in pain and loss, for yourself. If you're reading this you probably would have anyway, because you are all wonderful people worth cherishing. Because while heartbreak is universal, so is love. I love you.

Am sending you lots of loves and hugs. I too walked out a door a wife and walked back in a widow and there are still days it is hard to fathom he is gone. This month marks the 7th year and when I write it down like that it seems a long time ago and yet only minutes. Many hugs to you.

You should come on Facebook. I'm a bit ashamed of it, but I post more there than here thesedays. Because I prefer Livejournal words to be thoughtful and properly written and I'm not up to that all the time - it's the mental equivalent of living on junk food because I'm too tired to cook, but at least it keeps me in touch.

Hi Liz! Coming in very late on this one. I just stopped in on impulse after I reread some threads at Carpe. I so much enjoyed that conversation between Ruby and Hisoka in Ruby's intro log, and I never really got to say I appreciated it.

I, also, have lost some significant people in my life, and it's made me think about what's important. We can't stop them from going, but we can do as you suggest -- give as much love as we can while we can, to whomever we can. And I've always loved John Donne's poem -- nobody has ever said it more clearly or beautifully.
