RAWRRRR!

We have to be at the vet's tomorrow at 8.30am with Hamish. Testicle Removal Day has arrived. He's already in a raging, furious sulk because everyone in the house got fed except him. I'm really not looking forward to trying to get him into the cat carrier in the morning. I still have the scars from last time. Wish us luck please!

In other news, my sister and her boyfriend came to visit today, and (despite my last-minute attempt to distract them with offers of pretty calico demon-cats) they are going to have Hamish and Saffron as soon as they've all had their gonads removed. We'll be making Saffron's appointment today. Still need to organise Naamah being done, but with no testicles in the flat it becomes a matter of rather less urgency.

I wish I could keep him.

Just...get Naamah done before she goes into heat. Trust me on this, my dear.

Warm fuzzy thoughts for you and Hamish on the morrow. Maybe he'll be so light-headed from fasting that it won't be a problem getting him in the carrier? Well, we can dream anyway.

^ Totally agree about the pre-heat thing. 100%.

I am soooo thinking about you tomorrow, Liz!

good luck to you in getting Hamish into a carrier without being torn up in the process.

I tried to update twice today and both times I got an error message and my browser window closed itself. I'll try again tomorrow,

Carrier trick, thanks to Rufus who is PANICKED about carriers, possibly due to being trapped twice and definitely related to being in a carrier and falling off a table once.

Grab a towel. Wrap cat completely in towel, over head as well, so that he can't see what's happening. Place towel wrapped cat in carrier. Do not remove towel. He'll be so pissy about the towel that he won't be as hysterical about the carrier.

Good luck!

Good luck with the cat ball removal. Getting clawed animals into carriers they don't want to be in is a pain in the ass.

Good luck. Don't lose too much blood!

It is sad to let them go, but at least you can visit and hear how they are doing. I had some updates on Eve's babies this week and photos and they are all so healthy and happy. I am glad Naamah gets to stay and I hope you don't miss them too terribly.
