Almost forgot... a very amusing moment in the hardware store when I asked the clerk whether the hacksaw I was buying would cut through bone OK - I actually want to know because I'm going to start cutting and carving dogtags/earrings etc out of the remains of Spike's marrowbones, but he looked at me like I was Hannibal Lecter...

Brightened up my day considerably...

I must try that, except I haven't got a good excuse, so they probably would arrest me...

What exactly are you planning on doing with these souvenirs? Christmas presents?

It's just my creative urge and my obsessive hatred of waste... there's all this bone lying round the back garden, and it's such a beautiful, fascinating material; I've been wanting to do some work with it for some time, and I really, really need to shift my attention away from the boards right now in any case. What I do with the results depends on how much hard work it is and how well they turn out... I might try and make you a litle starfish keyring, though, would you like that?

Oh, and just so you know how obsessive and detail-oriented I really am, bone carving is also a Cardassian art form - it was mentioned in Second Skin...
