Spike isn't generally a cuddly dog, but he has an infallible radar. He's been snuggling me like mad and his fur is so soft. He has this trick of putting his paw on you, so very gently, and when I'm here at Mum's he climbs onto the armchair behind the computer chair to put himself on eye level with me and then he rests his head on my shoulder. He keeps up a constant commentary of little conversational lovey growly noises, and he keeps bringing me balls - because as every collie knows, there's nothing that can't be improved by a good ball game.
