I suppose I ought to post something... I'm in a state resembling suspended animation, I can't think, can't write anything intelligent, don't even really want to talk to people, can barely do anything at all. I know why, I've been off the Seroxat for a couple of weeks. I'm going to have to go and get some tomorrow, the pharmacy should have them waiting for me. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself.

Times like this are when I really depend on my dogs. The closest I've felt to being alive at all for days has been dancing with Spike or watching Max's ears flap about in the sunshine as he leaps in the air to catch a ball, and their dependence on me forces me to get off my fat arse and exercise them. This is precisely why I picked a high-powered breed like a Border Collie. If I didn't have them I'd end up like that poor woman who died being surgically removed from her couch. Sadly, I'm really not exaggerating here - well, not all that much...

Sick of all my bitching 'bout my pointer and my pills?

My dog-walking friend and neighbour Kim, who belongs to Spike's sidekicks Jay the GSD/Staffie cross and Jasper Jack Russell, found something in the local paper and brought it round last night - an advert or article (not sure which, since she'd just written the details down) from someone looking for gundog breeds with a view to training and placing them as police and Forces sniffer dogs. Mum forced me to phone the guy and it does sound legit; and young Max isn't short of instinct and drive. It's possible he would do well at such work. The man's going to be in the area next weekend and he's going to come and meet him.

And I'm crying as I type this, because Max is mine and I want with all my heart to keep him...
