Let's get it on

Cassie is leaking - clear fluid. She seems OK - a bit clingier than usual but not agitated or unhappy. Her milk glands have swollen up but they aren't leaking yet. I just got off the phone with the vet and he says that she's probably going into labour, and I shouldn't bring her in unless she looks distressed or spends hours straining with nothing happening.

According to my Google results she should also be licking herself and nesting but she isn't. She's not yet shown any interest in the nest box or the nesty-space in the wardrobe. I have a feeling she wants to give birth on my lap.

edit: CONTRACTION! She squawked. I took her back to the bedroom, and she went straight to the wardrobe. HERE WE GO!

One calico kitten, breathing, squeaking, strong and suckling. More as we know more!

The score so far:

One calico and white, first born, biggest. Suckling nicely.

One stripy tabby and white with orange bits, second, also suckling. This is the one I want to keep I DID NOT SAY THAT.

One orange and white (might have some dark bits on him, he's still wet). This one is noisy and very strong. Looks like the future troublemaker of the bunch.

One black and white (grey and white?) So far this one's the quietest. I'm not going to let myself worry yet, it's only three minutes old. EDIT: Now that its fur is dry it's actually tabby with white feet :)
