They'd never get into the tub! Spike is a water fiend - he loves rain, and he can't walk past any body of water, from a mud puddle to the sea, without leaping in up to his nose (even if it's so shallow he has to roll in it to get properly wet). But a BATH is something entirely different. It's an instrument of torture!
I don't know if she's actually getting better. She'd half-starved herself because she couldn't keep food down and the hospital are dealing with that, but - well, we'll see.
