Instructions: List seven songs you are into right now. no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your livejournal along with your seven songs. then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.

1. The Men They Couldn't Hang: Silver Gun

I'm going to a party in another place
Thinking of the money I'm about to waste
Working for the champagne, drugs and fun
In my black handbag there's a silver gun

2. The Men They Couldn't Hang: Singing Elvis

About a cherry red jukebox, from the album of the same name.

3. The Men They Couldn't Hang: Rosettes

From Silver Town, a folk song about football hooligans. Fucking brilliant.

4. The Men They Couldn't Hang: Company Town

Also from Silver Town. I don't suppose I really need to repeat the "brilliant" comment.

5. The Men They Couldn't Hang: Lobotomy Gets 'Em Home

Silver Town, again, about Frances Farmer.

6. The Men They Couldn't Hang: Shirt Of Blue. A nostalgic little thing, about the miners' strike, sort of. I think.

7. A live, country-and-westerned-up version of I Wanna Be Sedated by John Hiatt. Amazing. And here you were thinking I wasn't listening to anyone but TMTCH. I am certainly listening to them a lot.

8 and 9: Because I never know when to stop when it comes to music: How Bad's The Coffee and Buffalo River Home by John Hiatt.

10: Because I might as well finish on a nice round number, The Standells: Dirty Water. Love that dirty water!

Tagging, hmm, let me see: [livejournal.com profile] terri_osborne, [livejournal.com profile] dalaire, [livejournal.com profile] bulletslc, [livejournal.com profile] grikmeer, [livejournal.com profile] hellfire82, [livejournal.com profile] pktrekgirl and [livejournal.com profile] kleesrosegarden.

Who dat? I didn't know I knew anyone who'd even heard of them except for me plugging them like a very pluggy thing.

Silver Town was my first favourite. I bought my copy on cassette, from W.H.Smiths, reduced to about £1.50 because they'd lost the paper inlay thing and it was in a bare box. I'd never heard of the band, but the name seduced me and £1.50 wasn't a lot of cash.

Then I played it, and I've been in love ever since. They're just perfect.

I knew you liked Kirsty, so I should have guessed. I'm just accustomed to being the only person I know who's even heard of TMTCH.

I shall send you some of my MP3s now...
