Yesterday I was whining to cottonmanifesto about not having anyone to photograph the dogs outdoors for me, and how it was so harrrrd to juggle a camera in one hand and two leashes in the other. She didn't actually tell me to stop making lame excuses and just start taking pictures anyway, but she's nice like that. So these are for her.

This is Spike and Squish on alert - there's another dog across the road.

This is Spike in his hollow tree. I can't get far enough away to show the whole tree without letting the leash go, but he's about eight feet off the ground here.

Ever wondered why our house has never been overrun by zombies?

This is Spike in his Lookout Tree. It has a handy bulge in the trunk about four feet up that he can stand on.

This is Spike being nosy over someone's six foot garden wall. I get a lot of innocent amusement at people's reactions when his head pops over their walls and fences.

I'm going to keep doing this. My dogs may be glorious, but my photography needs practise....

It's usually too hot for me here from about the end of April till about the beginning of October. I'm not sure what that is in degrees. And I get very irritable when people tell me "oh, that's nothing, it's much hotter where I live". They're usually right, but so what? I have a low tolerance for heat.

That's about right. I complained all last summer (http://www.livejournal.com/users/lizblackdog/121102.html) and the summer before and I will this summer, too. I LIKE THE COLD.

And you won't be surprised to learn that Maggie is the only reason we have AC. It'd be animal cruelty to crate her without AC on some of the summer days we have here.
