Just learned that a member of what I consider my community - no, my extended family-of-choice - has been found dead this morning. She wasn't someone I, personally, knew especially well but what I knew I liked and admired, and many people that I love knew and loved her. I can feel the shock and pain rippling through the community from across the world.

Kelly was only 28. They say that those whom the Gods love die young. That's in no way a consolation to those left behind, but it seems to fit - such a bright, sparky soul that Kelly was, who couldn't love her?

Ack.

It's strange, you don't realize how much a single person can touch so many... even if only through words on a screen ...until something like this happens. You can't help but wonder, did she know how much she was loved? Let us hope she did/does.

I am so sorry, hon. It is wonderful that she managed to touch so many lives in twenty eight years. There's no better use of however much time you're afforded.

I lost an internet friend who I have known for about 3 years to a car crash about 6 weeks ago. I was close to him and it was shattering. I understand the grief some of Kelly's friends must be going through.

I didn't know Kelly, but seeing the effect that this terrible news has on her friends (a lot of whom I consider friends as well) is heartbreaking.
