Hmm...
I'm sorry there've been no entries. I've been in some sort of slump, lurking-not-posting at my BBSs, not IMing anyone and not being especially glad or having much to say if they IMd me, barely going out of the house except to wander over to Asda to replenish the pizza supply - it could be hormones, it could be the time of year - frell knows. In any case, I can feel myself starting to stir out of it - but since I've done almost nothing but sit on my fat arse in front of the monitor, I've got very little to write about. I did discover two rocking websites, though: Dogblog and Heartless Bitches International. One is a collection of beautiful dog photographs with a fun commentary, the other is just - well, click and see. I'm in love with it...
Took Spike to the vet's to have the wound inspected this afternoon. This is the first chance I'd had to really have a look at it, and it's even worse than I'd thought it was - it looks as though someone's tried to cut his thumb off with a scalpel (well, the pad on his wrist that equates to a human thumb - you know what I mean...). But he was his usual charismatic self, and charmed the pants off the veterinary nurse. She particularly liked the way he held up the bandaged paw for her without being asked - of course, he always does that, it's only one of his extensive repertoire of attention-whore antics, but I must admit it was especially sweet and pathetic in today's context. It's not something I ever taught him - Spike is almost completely self-trained - but he has a knack for making me look like a good trainer, bless his evil heart. The nurse gave him a biscuit and says he's healing nicely and we don't need to cover the wound unless we're going somewhere muddy, but I still have to restrict his exercise. What I'll probably do is just put some padding and protection over it before I take him out to play ball.
Don't anyone hold your breath, but I expect to have the second half of Brinkmanship ready for public viewing inside the next few days - my highly talented collaborator has promised to email the parts he's worked on tonight. Once I've edited to make the seams invisible I shall post both halves here for those of you who aren't yet Terran members... and why aren't you, anyway?
