I bought my new floor today - well, Mum put it on her B&Q charge card, and I shall either pay her back in instalments or else the Community Care Grant will cover it. Either way, I won't have to live with the nasty mustard-yellow floor that's there now, so I'm a very happy tail-wagging Black Dog tonight. It's black vinyl with a pattern of raised squares, shot through with a subtle dose of glitter. It's bloody beautiful. I also bought a small reading lamp (something I've been meaning to do for ages, since all I have right now are the much-too-stark-and-bright overhead lights) which is almost equally beautiful - I can't find a pic of it on B&Q's website, but it's purple, pointy-headed and very sci-fi looking - rather like a cross between a car radio antenna and a Farscape DRD - not one of Moya's, but Talyn's sleeker racing models. No, I know that doesn't tell you much. I shall include it in the redecorating before-and-after pictures that I plan on boring the pants off you all with soon... have I mentioned my plans to do the place with a Terok Nor theme? No? Well, I have now...

We had the pleasure of having the vinyl cut and measured by a beautiful young man with a goatee and tattoos - one of them was a pawprint, which I particularly liked. He was wearing a rather regrettable pair of low-slung jeans, which made me want to peel him out of them even more. Rowrrr!
