Handy Household Hints from Black Dog HQ: denture soaking tablets are better at toilet-cleaning than toilet cleaner. There was a nasty discoloured patch on the bottom that the limescale-dissolving blue stuff wasn't shifting, but it's gone now. The tablets only cost 30p for a tube of thirty, too.

I know diet Coke's supposed to work as well, but I don't have the foul stuff in the house. The toilet cleaner would probably taste better.

I'm almost the least houseproud person I know but I do hate to have a nasty toilet...

If I owned any vases at all, narrow or not, that would be useful to remember... I'm an extremely messy person but my way of keeping it within acceptable limits is to own as little as possible. No cut flowers ever, no houseplants, no ornaments.

I used to use bicarbonate of soda on thermos flasks, but I still had my own teeth back then... *sigh*
