"If, as you live your life, you find yourself mentally composing LJ entries about it, post this exact same sentence in your Live Journal."

Picked up at [livejournal.com profile] nenya_kanadka's place.

Spike's done something to his foot. Last night when I saw him limping I checked it over and found a sort of sharp grass seed thing sticking in his pad. I pulled that out and he seemed relieved, though still sore. This morning he's limping worse than ever, but when I touched the leg he's behaving as though it's his wrist joint that's hurting him. The pad isn't hot or swollen.

Ah. He was leaping about a lot yesterday in the park. It occurs to me that maybe, possibly, he strained his wrist trying to avoid landing on the pointy thing sticking in his paw?

Shall phone vet after 9am. I am unsure whether I ought to wait 24 hours and see if it improves by itself or not. I shall ask them.

He gets so embarrassed about being gimpy. It's heartbreaking.

If he was jumping around with the thingy in his paw, he'll probably be ok. Just have to make sure where the cut is clean do avoid infection. Actually, doggie saliva will probably do that just fine. :)

You haven't met Spike - if he had three broken legs with jagged bone ends sticking out, he still wouldn't let himself limp till I'd put the balls away and taken him home. Border Collie work ethic is a scary, scary thing. I just hope he hasn't damaged himself.

It's been a while since one of them's had a crisis, so you were probably due. :D

I'm sure he'll be fine. ;)

Yeah, he will be. He's just very unhappy and frustrated right now.

*hugs for you and Lord Prickle*
