It was all sunny and the daisies and dandelions hadn't been mown yet, so I thought I'd get pretty pictures of Spike lying in the sun. Instead, I got this. I love my arsehole dog.

I had to wave chicken about to get him to look at me.

Why the fuck does LJ default to bloody rich text mode when I post pics? I can't work rich text mode! I had to copy/cut/delete entry/paste the source code back in to get it to behave so I could use an LJ cut like decent folks. Gah.

Oh wow. Pretty!

Say, what kind of harness is that on Spike?

It's a Halti harness. (http://www.companyofanimals.co.uk/halti-harness.php) If I use it with the leash clipped to his chest as well as his back he's unable to pull on the leash at all. I usually don't, unless I'm lugging heavy shopping or feeling really short on patience myself, because I'd rather just teach him not to pull and it's more fun for him to have the extra leash length, but it's a useful card to have up my sleeve.

Mostly, I use it because even when he's not being pully, he does these sudden jerks forward sometimes, and he was hurting his throat doing it when he was just on a collar.

he does, they're like silk. Thank you.

Spike is a nutjob, but he's a pretty good nutjob really. I need that manic quality in my life, he keeps me on my toes...

Nice dogs. LJ can behave weirdly sometimes. I had to edit my last post several time to get it right.

I'm sure it never used to do that. It's really annoying - I never use rich text normally, and I actually find it much harder that fiddling with the HTML directly.

Thanks :-)

From: [identity profile] joeljenkins.livejournal.com

Neither do I. I downloaded an HTML editor last night, and for my post I want to use UL tage, and put a space between the lines, and I didn't want that. I might just have make a cheat sheet for LJ.

Love to photograph the babies...

You know, I never tire of taking pictures of my babies. I must have hundreds of pictures of my dogs, and still, when they do something cute, I start rushing around looking for the camera, trying not to disturb them into moving!

Re: Love to photograph the babies...

Oh yes! The trouble with mine is that the moment I pick up the camera they stop what they're doing and stare at me instead...

The scent rising up from the masses of daisies was amazing! A lot of people don't even realise they're scented because they're small and underfoot and common... they're easily my favourite flower.

I was glad I got the pics before the council came and mowed it all...

Try out one of the LJ clients around. It's very handy and it won't mess with you and turn into rich text mode if you don't want it to. Really great. And you've got almost all tags you need a shortcut away too.

And daymn! It looks like summer on your pics! Here the grass has just now started to grow properly...

perhaps i will. though this only happens when i do a pic post direct from my LJ scrapbook.

it IS summer here now, pretty much. Though it may be another month or so before I start bitching about the heat.

*grumble*

It is unfair I tell you! This spring has been so late I doubt the Magnolia x soulangiana will flower on May 1st. And then the spring is really late. I want summer! Gimme summer!!!

come and have mine!

no, it's not fair. you got SNOW. where was my snow, damn it?

From: [identity profile] ulva.livejournal.com

I would gladly have given you all of it if I had the opportunity! I am NOT fond of snow for months and months! Especially not in late March. Bleh.

that's why I kept it even though it's technically a failure as a photo.

it's quintessential Spike :-D

BEAUTIFUL doggy pics!! They're both gorgeous dogs, srsly - and the pics capture their personalities (well what I know of them). Spike looks all confident and energetic, and Squish looks kind of dreamy!
