I live here

Introducing the Helyar Road Terriers, who are good friends of Spike and Squish's. The black and tan one is Chester and the rough coated one is Jessie.

The last pic is a view of my apartment block - the two top left-hand windows are my kitchen window (you can see the garbage bin on the windowsill) and Spike's lookout window in the living room.

For [livejournal.com profile] cottonmanifesto with love :)

well - they're fatter than my dogs, but Chester has a massively thick Labrador-like coat and Jessie is elderly and also has a thick coat; they're not like massively unhealthy-fat, just a bit on the thick side really. They're not short of energy and bounce. Their owners are some of my least SPO-like neighbours, I'm very fond of them.

that pic is Spike barking at me, because he is a jerk. :)

They totally remind me of my friends dog, Rudy. Barrelly but full of terrier vim and vigor. :)

And Spike bark at you? THE CHEEK. :)

He's a Collie, it's just his way of making conversation. Or bitching because we've been standing still too long, which is what it was in that pic.

He looks just like maggie when she's 'rooing' at me for some reason. She kinda roos at me a lot. :)

roo-roo-roo!

Spike does that too! I've tried to record it once or twice but he always knows when there's a microphone on and clams right up. Bastard!

From: [identity profile] cottonmanifesto.livejournal.com

ha ha ha! he has performance anxiety. :) sometimes if she's particularly excited to see you, she'll talk "arrrrooorrorrroooommmmrrrrooooowwwwrrrrr"

he does! the dear boy is very highly-strung...

I wanna come meet Maggie. I'll bring meatballs!

From: [identity profile] cottonmanifesto.livejournal.com

You're more than welcome to come meet Maggie, I'm sure she'd welcome you and your meatballs with open paws. And if your face has any leftover butter or jelly on it, she'd be happy to help you clean it off.

Spike looks like he's having fun with the leash in the second one from the top. :)

From: [identity profile] lizblackdog.livejournal.com

yep, he's being a jerk again. he does that whenever the excitement gets too much for him.

From: [identity profile] mcsassypants.livejournal.com

Well, we all have our quirks. :-)

He's still very handsome. Give him a belly rub for me.

In fact, give Squish one too. I don't want him to feel left out.

From: [identity profile] lizblackdog.livejournal.com

He rarely holds still long enough! Squish is a much more relaxing dog to be around, but I do love my handsome Evil Bugger very very very much :)

thank you :)

yep, Spike is a jerk.

(I already commented and it vanished. I bet it appears when I hit submit on this one.)

Awww! I love the close up on Squish! He is so beautiful! Of course, Evil Bugger is handsome too!

I wish I hadn't cut his nose off, though. He's very hard to photograph outdoors because he won't LOOK at me. Gundogs.

Spike is handsome, but very very evil :)

Aahhahaa! Short dogs with stumpy legs!

Your dogs are very handsome.

love those lil' stumpy dogs! For some reason short dogs don't upset Spike as dogs his own size do.

thank you :)

You'd think so, wouldn't you? But I think it's actually the other way round. The only dog who ever successfully beat Spike up was a Jack Russell, about half Chester's size. He's been all respectful of them ever since.

it is, isn't it? absolute essence of Spike. That was the exact look that made me fall in love with him, and I never captured it before. :-D

From: [identity profile] rozae.livejournal.com

I am drawn to Jessie. What a doll. Bit husky though, isn't he? *chuckle*

And, is it just me or does Spike often attack his leash? :P

They're both adorable dogs, though Chester is the more sociable of the two - he's also barky and sparky as hell, bless him.

In the flesh they're more thickset than really overweight, though they are fatter than my dogs.

...yeah, Spike does. He uses it as displacement activity whenever his excitement level rises above a certain point - and since he's been underexercised since my arm's been buggered that's happening quite often at the moment, poor darling.

From: [identity profile] rozae.livejournal.com

Something about Jessie makes me feel all motherly, though both are adorable.

she's a little old lady. I think she's thirteen or fourteen.

they had another JRT staying with them last week that was even older. He was originally tricoloured but he's faded to silver and white and I think he was deaf as well... he was SO sweet. I doubt I'd ever have a JRT myself but I do adore them.

From: [identity profile] rozae.livejournal.com

Yeah; I don't think I'll own a JRT. Not sure we'd be a good match. But I do love 'em. :]

Spike is evidently way to smart for his own good.

"Moisturise me". Heh.
