Cassie worried me a bit by not eating much yesterday, but it turns out she was objecting to my mixing milky kitten glop with her meat. I was warned she didn't like milky things but I figured she'd be needing it badly enough not to mind. Once I replaced it with a glop-free mixture of ground chicken backs and ground beef with heart she snarfed it down. It's the first sign of anything approaching food-pickiness she's shown so far, bless her.

There's more stuff I want to write - Mum, family, hospital, yada yada but I'll leave this entry for the kittens. Mum's looking better though.

Oh good news about your mother - yay!

...and phew! I was just sitting here jonesin' for my kitten fix. Thanks, I feel much better now. :D

she's still a long way from well, but she was in such good spirits today, so much more animated and cheerful than I've seen her in ages. We were having one of our stupid giggle sessions and I can't recall the last time that happened. It made me so happy.

thank you :)

hang in there

Your babies are precious beyond words. Good luck with all the other stuff, it sounds like one of those times you need to sit down somewhere and take a few deep breaths. I've been doing a bit of that lately...

Re: hang in there

It's been a bit stressful and intense. But this week I'm hitting my stride, I think. All the stuff that was knocking me out last week - the daily hospital visits and looking after Mum's cat as well as dealing with my pack suddenly got a lot easier after the weekend. Just a question of getting used to it, I think.

Thank you :)

That's the one I'd like to keep, if only I could keep one. *sigh*

I'm waiting to see how Mum does. If she recovers properly - well, Maisie would probably like to have a companion and I know Mum won't be able to resist once she sees them in the flesh.

If I can't keep her in the family I'd love to keep her on my f-list. Glasgow might be tricky though.

What about the time she ate half a plate of food - with two different types on each half?

That was the time I tried her with the chicken/tripe mix together with the plain chicken, I think. She did eat some of the tripe though, it's just not her favourite.

nice to see you on LJ :)

I knew there was one person on my f-list who'd get that! I was reading it while she was birthing them. You started me on a re-reading DWJ kick with Deep Secret. That is a Good Thing.

Am also back into Bujold - about two-thirds through Memory now. And I have a new favourite character, since she killed off my orioginal favourite. *pout*

Now you've done it! You've gone and NAMED them! Now you're going to have to inspect houses and families before allowing them to leave...

That happened to my sister when we were kids...she went and named the puppies, and my father put his foot down that we could NOT keep them...

so she went and inspected people before she would let any of hem go...then a couple weeks after giving them up, she went back to them and inspected again...people were a bit irritated with her...lol :D :D

They're sooo cute, I just want to cuddle a couple...especially Shona, who looks like my Cuddles Calico.

I would have done that anyway! Or at least, any that family and friends don't take will be rehomed by Cats Protection - and they're very thorough and exacting over adoptions.

Hmmmmm... I'm in Coventry next week, how far is that away from you? Not that I want to steal one of them, nooooo...

*sigh* They are incredibly adorable!!!

Awwwww, they're so precious! I want one. Eddie would try to eat them, though. Callette does look a bit like Kira.

*sigh* if I only had a transporter it would be so easy to keep them all on my f-list!

love Kira and Eddie!

Lydda and Elda remind me so much of my darlings, Essex and Sussex, two very small kittens I cared for, kitten formula, the works, until they were ready for homes. I totally inspected the homes and they went to the same house in a ritzy neighborhood. How they ruled the world therefater. LOL!

Anyway, great pics again! Thanks so much for posting them.

(obligatory) Squeeeee! :^D

Cats always rule the world, don't they?

Any that don't go to family or trusted friends get rehomed by Cats Protection - they're very thorough with the home checks and vetting. I can live with that.

*wishes desperately that she were not allergic to cats, on the wrong continent, or possessed of dogs that think cats are toys*

i wanna kitty!

Cute kitty-cats!!! I'm really pleased for you!!!

From: [identity profile] kyra-neko-rei.livejournal.com

OHHHHH! Want Lydda/Flury!

Can't have. *pouts*

Then again, I have a big scratch from Tetrapod to cool some ardor currently.

I know! I wasn't expecting, when I adopted a cat, to get more cats free inside.

But I'm rather glad all the same. :)

From: [identity profile] my3babies.livejournal.com

Awe pretty kitties. To bad I'm allergic and you know, not in the same country. Too bad also that at least 2 of my 4 dogs think cats are for eating. I don't think the cats would like that to much.
they are beautiful though.

You've likely already seen this, but obviously I thought of your mum and just in case you hadn't:

Thanks for the kitten update. I'm glad you're mum's looking better. How's it going looking after the dogs/cat/kittens/your mum/you? Sounds exhausting. xxx
ext_15855: (Default)

From: [identity profile] lizblackdog.livejournal.com

Thanks :)

Now that I've been at it a week it's become less exhausting, thank the gods. The first few days I was in a bit of a collapsey state but I'm getting into a routine with it now. It helps that Mum is more like herself and I'm not so worried. Nothing more energy-draining than stress.

oh my goodness. I need a defibrillator here, I think I'm in love. too much kitty cuteness!
anyway...the reason why I came here in the first place: would it be ok to add you?
