Given the hints they dropped in last week's ep, I'm not surprised at all really. Still doesn't mean I'm not disappointed, as she's fantastic, just not surprised.
At the end of last year, I would have been really disappointed, but frankly I haven't liked Rose as much this series. I'm not sure why that is; I certainly want to like her.
Still, I have faith that RTD will come up with another worthwhile companion. There have been so many excellent almost-companions in the last two series, with Lynda being only the most notable. Who knows, maybe this could pave the way for the return of Captain Jack?
I only managed to catch the first episode with Eccleston right after BSG ended... and I really liked her. Can't wait to get caught up on DVD. I feel for all ye Whovians though.
Eccleston is great as The Ninth Doctor, and Tennent is just as good, if not better as #10. (I've seen some via Youtube, but will be greatful when they are aired and released here in the US.)
Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Even though it's definitely linked to the classic series, the producers updated it in a manner that doesn't insult a current audience's intelligence. It's very thoughtful, very contemplative at times, and in the end, very good.
But hearing this is not a surprise for me. She had a good run, and I liked her. Let's hope her end is a noble one, and that the next companion is just as good.
(I'm just wondering what Rose's mother would say about this...)
Ahh, so that's why everyone's saying "don't read the Sun today" and everyone else is like "why would I EVER read the Sun?" and the others are like "I ...don't know actually" and now I'll be all "don't read BBC either" and all will be well.
Well that just makes me sad. I really liked her character. Of course that was only after one season, but this just makes me want to see Season 2 even more. :(
