it's way too hot.

have spent the day alternately watching House and Stargate episodes and supervising kittens. They have all learned to climb the bed easily and can no longer be contained in the secure little penned area I set up for them, although I'm 99% sure they can't climb the stack of VHS tapes keeping them in the bedroom - I haven't seen them try yet but it's taller than they are and slippery. Spike is beside himself watching them and I had to physically drag him away from the cat room door, order him to eat his supper and stand over him to make sure he did. Cassie is also beside herself chasing little furballs around. Shona wants to be a shoulder cat, and lacerated me nicely trying to prove it.

Squish just went all alerty and started growling frantically at something under the couch. When I went to look, it was a black T-shirt that had fallen down the back and was crouching under there in a menacing way. It's reassuring to know that my dogs will always keep me safe from rogue laundry, as well as spiders, squirrels, mirrors, plastic bottles, skateboards and other people's cats.

When we were in the field with the long grass this morning he froze on point, very nearly causing me to cannon into him from behind. It was a perfect textbook-type point, too, except I'm fairly sure gundogs aren't usually used for grasshopper hunting. Love that daft bugger.

Sounds like he's doing well lately, though!

if it weren't so hot, I'd be able to imagine a possible scenario where I was startled by a spider, stepped on a skateboard, gor knocked off-course by a plastic bottle in my path, fell into a mirror and cut myself to ribbons, and then died because I landed in a pile of laundry that muffled my cries for help.

see? Squish just saved my life!

31c here and getting hotter this week... O_o GRRR can't use the main machine and even Ota (laptop) is heating up the room waaaaay to fast.

Yay for Spike and Squish! ;) Rogue laundry is evil!

Like my socks always getting away....

Re: Stargate episodes

I know, just when Doctor Who finished too! Great timing!

I'm going to have to track down the disc with the last few eps from last season on them, though. I'm having trouble remembering eveything that happened...

Re: Stargate episodes

I know! We (wuz, Mia and me) had the same problem when we watched the epis together yesterday. I had to watch both epis again today for it all to make complete sense.

Less than that - thirtyish, I think - but it's way too hot for me and my dogs.

30's & 40's sounds NICE anf comfy
then again you aren't talking in real temperature so I have no idea what you mean
We were out working in the sun at about 100 yesterday

It's not news to me that it's hotter in Florida than it is here, sweetie. Nor is it a big surprise that you're comfortable in higher temperatures than I am. Nevertheless, being told that I'm not really hot implies that I'm making a fuss over nothing and makes me extremely cranky. Please please don't.

I didn't say I was comfortable
I was miserable & nauseous from the heat but we were reinforcing things for the hurricanes
I just don't know how hot 30's & 40's are in real temperature

oh - eightyish. Much less hot than where you are. It's just killing me, though.

Poor dear. Should've been at the Springs with us. Warmest it gets anywhere in the water is 72, but if you get right over the source point it's a steady flow of glorious 68 degree water under the shady trees.

68 is better than 80, but still too hot for me.

and 72 in the water is a bath! water should be COLD!

You can't be much fun in a hot tub :-P

No WONDER you can't get the lube off, you need to use HOT soapy water!

:-P

I prefer hot tubs in winter. Ideally it'd be one of those deals where you jump out and get beaten with birch twigs in the snow.
