Bah. I wanted to talk to people (specifically [livejournal.com profile] ulva and likely [livejournal.com profile] huntingdon and [livejournal.com profile] cottonmanifesto as well) but Gaim no worky. Every time I try and boot it up it crashes. I've reinstalled it with the latest bug-fixes but it still keeps crashing.

*kicks Gaim*

i saw you log in and out a few times. :)

yep. I'd get halfway logged in then everything would crash!

yeah, I did want to talk about that. I mean, I think I have a fairly good grasp of what I'm doing but insight from sensible dog people is always such a huge help...

i think it's clear (based on success so far) that what you're doing is working. :)

well, I read up a little and there's all this stuff about "never allow them on the couch" - I don't have ROOM not to let them on couches and it's his own bed!

but yeah, he is beginning to get the idea, thoigh knowing Mr Special McSpotted-Dog it will take some time.

incidentally, he has recently taken to trying to eat acorns.

if he was on the floor, he'd still guard things and his space. i'm not sure that makes sense. at least on the couch, they have to make an effort to get up to him.

sometimes charlie will growl at maggie (usually if he's particularly tired/sore) when she's at the doorway of the room - not even in there with us.
ext_15855: (Squish: Who)

From: [identity profile] lizblackdog.livejournal.com

that's true - if he's on the couch-cushion on the floor he guarda that, and it's much more inconvenient than having him guard his couch space because he's in the middle of the floor in everyone's way then.

I don't really care about him doing it with Spike. He and Spike have long since learned how not to piss each other off - Spike just gets growled at sometimes if he's so into cat hrding or window watching that he walks over Squish without registering he's there. But I worry about him doing it to a kitten.

I love that Maggie icon. Her FACE!!

i just saw this and laughed and thought of you:

ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

i think that with squish, it's probably all bluster.

maggie has a horrible face, poor thing.

Oh wow, I LOVE that!!! *clicksaves*

There's a reason Spike was named after him, you know. He's such a Big Damn Hero that he makes poor lil' Squishypants feel insecure.

*squishes Maggie*

how can you say such a thing to that adorable pink and white face!!! she's a lovely Maggles, so she is!

From: [identity profile] cottonmanifesto.livejournal.com

his face is so funny - jef says it's bizarro kirk.

you need to get spike a ripped shirt to wear when picking up the ladies. :)

and i love maggie, horrible face and all. :)

The Mirror Universe one? I'm not as well up on the original series as a real Trekkie should be... I have seen it but not often enough to pick out which episode any given screencap comes from. I do better with DS9.

Spike has SIDEBURNS, he doesn't need a shirt :-P

arggh! Cassie will not shut up. MOW MOW MOW MOW MOWW all damn day. one of the kittens got shut in the bathroom and I didn't realise for half an hour because Cassie cries wolf so often. argh!

Squish keeps trying to eat acorns out on walks. My animals are all fucking nuts.

From: [identity profile] cottonmanifesto.livejournal.com

yeah - i'm agreeing with him that it's from that ep.

you need to be downloading and watching them, missy!

and ... sideburns would probably work just fine.

i wish i could give you a few baby gates!

acorns taste REALLY freaking bad. poor starving squisher.

yes, yes, I do, I know! but I am working my way through ER and I only have so much disc space.

although I do have a pile of shiny new blank DVDs that [livejournal.com profile] topbit got for me, YAY!!!

I am ashamed to discover that I've become so accustomed to fast-paced modern television that I get restless watching older shows. I had this problem with The Prisoner and vintage Doctor Who lately - they're both GREAT shows but I keep finding my attention wandering.

...yep, my poor desperate starving dog only had half a pound of beef/heart mince and a chicken thigh and three big meaty pork ribs today. I can see him wasting away in front of my eyes...

Oh, there will be plenty of time later on darling. The computer is here to stay and I'll be here. :)

You need to update GAIM, Micro$oft changed something in the protocol that makes GAIM crash.

http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gaim/gaim-2.0.0beta3.1.exe

There, just download and install, no need to remove the old GAIM.

I thought I had the most recent version but it looks like I was wrong - thank you!
