Wall of Death with no dog
Wall Of Death with dog

This is the wall Spike ran along the top of. I think I was exaggerating when I said six foot. I tried to get him to sit nicely at the base of it for size comparison, but I foolishly tried to do this at the beginning of our walk when he was all fired up about wanting to play ball, so we failed at sit-stay. I did, however, manage to catch him and the wall in the same frame. The shrubbery he used to climb onto the wall can be seen to his left; the compost heap he used to land in is further along to the left.

Squish on the way home

Pic one is a random shot of Spike on the dog couch. Pics two and three are Spike and Squish on-leash, resting on the way home after today's ball game.
Cass and Naamah on the cat bed

Bonus adoring mother-daughter cat pic! Now includes calico! That is Cassie's bed, and she rarely allows Naamah near it. She was clearly feeling affectionate.

And here is us in the park. Squish is bouncy! Spike is sleek and evil, and watch out for his Shark!Dog moment.

I SO love to watch them chase those balls; so much energy...:D...Spike was a sneaky shark there; I thought he was still over at the other side when he grabbed that one...what WAS up that tree, anyway?

That wall is big enough, whether or not it was 6 feet...scary.

oops! forgot to say...perfect posing putty-tats...:D

mine don't pose that way...they roll their eyes and say...Not aGAIN!

Yes. I already knew he could bounce up and hang by his front legs off the wall; he's done that before. But I had no idea he'd be able to get right up onto it. He used a big woody shrub (youcan sort of see it in the top picture) to climb up with... and yes, terrifying.

There wasn't a damn thing up that tree. He just likes running up trees. The first time he did it, it was a squirrel, but he just does it for the hell of it now. He learned it got him attention and he REALLY likes attention. :D

Ha, no. It's the off-camera moment when the collie that we all think is off behind me somewhere swoops in and steals Squish's ball from under his nose.

I didn't have the camera pointing right for it, and neither Squish nor I saw it coming - but you can see Squish sort of growlyelp and leap back startled. That was the shark moment.

Heh, okay, I'll look for it again later.

Sounds like it should have its own shark-motif music like the one from Jaws, though. :D

AAAAH! If I knew how to do that, that would be the coolest thing ever. One day I will get someone more technologically-competent than myself to do it, too.

I love me some Squishy.

I wish my dogs would fetch. They prefer chase, grab, and destroy. Jerks.

Squishy is a pretty damn good dog. He puts up with Spike sharking his ball out from under his nose, too. That pup is a saint.

I'm lucky. Mine are fairly good about not destroying, unless I foolishly leave plastic things or toilet rolls in Squish's reach.

I CAN HAS ADORABLE PETLOVE!

I do prefer the kitties, but doggy is cute too <3

Yeah, cat person here too, so I thought, "Aw, cute" at the pups but I squeeeeeeed at the kittehz.

Also, Liz, before I saw what music you were playing, your title made me rack my brains w/r/t whether I'd ever heard a Cajun song called "Tu me fais tourner la tête."

heh... I am the other way round. I like cats generally, and I love my own particular cats, but I'm essentially a dog person. I actually like the high-maintenance and neediness. Is that sick?

And this, ladies and gentlemen and wenches and rogues, is why we do not have border collies. Crazy running cattle dogs, yes, but at least they stay on the ground.

Squish always surprises me with how vocal he is for a pointing breed. And Spike of course, hogging the balls. And looking more than a bit crazed on the way home. XD

Spike says: CRAZED? MOI???

Squish is UNBELIEVABLY fucking noisy. You should hear him when there are foxes outside the window in spring and summer; he bays like a hound. Except in a glassbreakingly shrill soprano. One day I will have the camera ready and inflict it on the rest of you.

Love, love, love this post! Cuddly Spike on the dog couch, I love him!

Yay! You were totally overdue in posting pics and videos. I am loving these.

Naamah is getting the family face as she gets older, isn't she. Also I brought you back a (stone) tortoise.

Es.

For some reason Squish has something so genteman-ish about him in that picture the kind of "Care for some tea old chap?" air. :D

Heh :D

...He is a little bit like that. Refined. As refined as it's possible for a creature who'll willingly eat catshit to be, anyhow - but that's dogs for you, isn't it?
