I haven't cooked in years and here I was spending all evening doing it. Wow. I made plum salsa - nothing at all like the recipe, I made it up as I went along from what was lying about the kitchen. The soy sauce may have been a mistake but it's not bad. I want to leave it in the fridge overnight for the flavours to soak into each other and the vinegar and lemon juice to take the edge off the onion.

And then I made ratatouille. I did it the lazy way by shoving everything into the oven because I don't actually have a pan big enough to hold it all - and I wanted the oven on anyway, I was roasting some chicken quarters for cold chicken tortilla wraps.

I used to work in Mum's restaurant in my late teens and chopped peppers and smashed garlic at high speed with the same Big Garlic Smashing Knife and chopping board you see in the pictures (we took most of the kitchen stuff home after the restaurant went bankrupt) and I don't seem to have lost my touch.

I dearly love my Little Goth Girl mood icons, but it makes me very growly that "accomplished" seems to be holding a baby. Of course it's hard work to have a baby and all but... grrr, all the same. Not about to change my mood icons on account of it but it irks me.
