Hahaaaa, I have a new keyboard!
My morning dog walk takes me past another block of flats identical to ours, with the big communal wheelie bin (Americans: that's a dumpster) out the front. Leaning against the wheelie is a computer - monitor, keyboard, mouse and all. I am now typing on the keyboard and it's way nicer than the manky touch-type tutorial (i.e. no visible lettering) one that I'd been using. The junker mouse is a three-button job with no scrolly, so I've dropped it in my spares drawer. YAYYY!!
the computer itself and the monitor are still out there because there's a limit to what I can carry on one dog walk, but there's bound to be some useful bits in there...
Don't expect the typo quotient to go down now that I can actually see the letters, BTW. The keys are smaller than the ones I'm used to and I'm a tad clumsy on it.
the ankle is recovering but still fragile. I can do twenty minute dog walks, but I can't run or walk fast yet. Spike's internal pressure is getting close to psycho hosebeast levels and he's annoying the cats more than usual, but I really need at least one more day taking it easy. It's a fine balance.
