Well, cunning, anyhow.

Naamah decided to be a smart-arse and hide under the couch instead of getting locked in the bedroom overnight. They're not stupid. They know I can't reach them under there if they scooch right to the back. They generally consent to being shut in as a fair price for their evening meal, but Naamah's not a very foody cat (unlike Hamish, who'd sell his soul for garlic sausage)and she decided she'd rather have adventures than supper. Spike did his best, and at one point he had her pinned on top of the dog crate, but she's too quick and too essentially unafraid of Spike (who she knows isn't allowed to nip her) for him to hold her against her will.

So I hatched a Cunning Plan. I took the dogs out for a walk and deliberately left the utility room door ajar. One trapped cat. Score one for monkey ingenuity!
