Black Doggerel

This year, my family decided to go with a Secret Santa system for family gifts, so instead of everyone buying everyone 494603437 things, everyone just has one gift to buy each. For me, the eternal poor relation, this is a relief on the level of a piano being lifted off my chest.

I've seen twenty or thirty holiday card posts on my f-list now, so it's time for mine.

I love you all very much. I do not, however, love Christmas, and if I weren't forced to by my family I would decline to observe it in any way, shape or form. I won't be sending anyone any cards, and I'd prefer not to receive them.

I do, of course, wish you all the best possible things at any time of year.

Out of the six people I feel obliged to buy gifts for, I've managed to deal with four today. Still need to go out again tomorrow. Don't wanna. Have bought my sister something that I know she'd like but I'm half certain she's got it already, and no way of finding out without giving it away. I don't know what the hell I'll do if she has. I don't know what the hell to get for sisters' respective boyfriends, either.

Just make it stop now, please.
