so yesterday afternoon, I am playing a particularly vigorous, cathartic tug game with Mr Evil Sharkbastard Collie, and he nails me a beauty across the back of the hand. There's a tendon that runs from the back of your middle finger over your knuckle and into your hand; he got me right on that. His teeth are blunt and Spike injuries are crush/bash ones rather than pointy, but the skin across my knuckle is split. Not bitten open, just split from hitting the tooth. Spent two hours holding an icepack on it, which is probably the only reason I can still type. Ow.

So then I take them out again in the evening, as I do. Spike is feeling all bumptious because I am refusing to play tug with him. We're on the little green patch outside the flats, and he sees a plastic bottle that we had a spontaneous fetch game with yesterday. He lunges, grabs it, and starts bouncing up and down around my legs by way of suggesting another game. I probably would have gone for it if he hadn't tripped me. I came down like a ton of bricks on the asphalt path and had to spend half the night with more icepacks on both knees and elbows. Still limping a bit today.

I love my dog, but ow.

Ouch! Maybe you should start tying pillows onto your arms and legs before taking them outside...or else get those leg and arm protectors they have for people who play soccer or ride bikes...and, while you're at it, get a helmet...that's the next obvious body part to hit the pavement...LOL

wonder what Spike would write in the monochromemob blog about this? hmmm...they haven't written anything there in a long time...did it get given up? just curious.

Other than your injuries, how have you been? haven't seen you around much lately.

their secretary has been too lazy to log into their blog, I'm afraid. that, and I have been having one of my depressive/hermit spells. sometimes I just have trouble mustering the mental energy to write anything at all.

i'm fine really; nothing much actually happening in my life. I have been having a depressive spell, but it wasn't caused by anything bad happening. just my dodgy brainchemistry. it made me curl up in a ball and go incommunicado for a while. it seems to be passing now. thank you!

Oh...I get them sometimes, too...not very often, but they are really nasty when they do hit.

I'm glad it's passing...know you're always in my thoughts and prayers...{{{HUGS}}}

I'm still debating going by myself. I have a feeling I won't, mind. Just keeping my options open.

Oh yes. It's partly hereditary (my mother was a great one for household disasters) and partly my choice of dog - Spike plays rough.

Click on my "dog-related injuries" tag if you want a laugh!

I know I've read one or two, at least. Helmet and knee and elbow pads are sounding like a wise precaution, if you've got rambunctious doggies and a history of klutziness in the family.

hehehe, i have an 'ouch' tag in my journal. puppy has a habit of tripping me, especially when i'm running trying to find my cell phone before it stops ringing.

Oh, why certainly he doesn't mean to :) He is just one hundred percent intense.

I've actually never watched (although I did know where the quote came from)
I stole the icon from you and Tink's mom. ^_^

But i swear it is on my netflix waiting list!
And that would be an excellent theme!
