It's been a year since I last pimped [livejournal.com profile] driveforlife to my f-list. In that time it's had a hiatus, but those of you who added it last time may have noticed it's back in motion.

Here's the deal: Lots of dogs and cats in shelters across the USA can be saved if they can be moved to rescues, no-kill shelters and foster homes when there may not be room for them where they are. To do this, volunteer drivers are needed.

So if you have a car, are in the US and might be able to spare some driving time on a weekend, could you swing by and have a look? I'll love you forever if you do.

this is one of the only times I wish I had a car to do something useful.

I love you anyway for wanting to. And look at all the carbon monoxide you're not generating!

Re: I live in MD

oooh, hello!

Thank you. There are transports going all over the place; keep an eye on the comm. And bless your heart.

Boss said one of the ladies he works with at the Hospital Place does this. A lot. He says she's a really nice person.

She is. I used to live in a shelter. There were kind people there; but it was really horrible. I kept trying to escape but I only hurt myself and the vet had to tie my paw back together and they put one of those things on where you can't reach to lick or scratch or anything. My person never did that. She just said "Don't lick your stitches." And I'm like - well, you only had to ASK.

There were lots and lots and lots of dogs there. They all need to be with people who understand them.

Spike.
