Charlotte Computer appears to be dead. Put in a DVD last night and she spontaneously rebooted, again and again, with the DVD drive making a funny tick-tick-tick-tick noise. It was 1 a.m., so I just switched her off at the mains and decided to worry about it in the morning... and in the morning she just wouldn't switch on at all. I can't even tell if the switch is in the on or off position - nothing happens.
(Yes, I did switch the mains back on, it isn't that. And all the things that are meant to be plugged in are plugged in. That's always the first thing I check, and that's about my limit as far as troubleshooting goes anyway.)
No idea what I'm going to do next. For the moment I'm catching up with my friendslist on Mum's computer at Grimmauld Place. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.
