Anyone on my f-list who's in the States, has a car and the odd free weekend and fancies saving lives?

Check it out.

I've just started helping them out with some of the typing and HTML scutwork, since I'm not in a position to help in any other way right now. Hence the plug.

I'm watching the community, but transports rarely come this far north, although I'm set up to transport a little pekenese up to Brainerd in a couple of weeks.

Is that Cookie, or something completely different?

Yeah, I'm transporting Cookie. She's having her spay done in Minneapolis, so they delayed the transport by a couple of weeks.

i',m in minneapolis. i am disabled and can't offer transport, but i can offer help twards gas or ameal or shelter or something if it is useful.

Anything that anyone can do is always appreciated. Often a transport can fall apart because a person in an area can fill a leg but cannot afford gas; there are also instances where overnights are needed when all the legs are still filled. If you really, really want to help there are always options. Thank you for even being willing.

I can put you in touch with someone who does more coordinating on a Minnesota-centric scale, but for the most part not really. Just keeping an eye on the community will give you an idea of what transports are happening, or any emergency situations that come up.

But if you're interested in becoming more heavily involved, let me know a good way to get hold of you by email and I'll pass along your offer to the gal I mentioned before.

I was going to ask [livejournal.com profile] ambersaigh to answer this because she deals with stuff (I'm just being a typist for the comm) - but she got there first 'cause she's smart and sharp, yayy!

but thank you from me, too!

I'm a member...but I have little reliable transportation currently...but see, I know people who do, and I'm very convincing :P

And you - thank you for the plug. We really appreciate it.

Thanks for letting us know about this service. I noticed nothing set for California. I'd imagine that it's probably pretty tough for southern California, where I am, since we're in the lower left corner of the country. (Not too many people pass through here going from one place to another - we tend to be the end of the road).

However...I will keep my eye out, and if the right opportunity comes up, help out as best I can.

Anytime! I love my pets, and love helping pet charities. Whether it's a big bag of food being dropped off at the local shelther, or giving supplies, I try to help when I can.

AWESOME. I have just emailed to volunteer for my first driving stint. There are also two other legs on the same trip that I think I may be able to find friends to take. This is such a fantastic program. Thanks for letting me know, Liz!

*happy bouncy huggy dance*

YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

thank you so so so much!!! I hear it's dachshunds? *bounce bounce*

From: [identity profile] revolution-grrl.livejournal.com

It is - two sweet dachshunds, which makes me happy, because I have a little "brother" who is a dachshund, and when tragedy hit my family a couple of years ago, he was SO important in keeping my mom going and giving her a reason to get out of bed in the mornings. I was in Russia, and couldn't get to her, but every time we spoke, she mentioned his sweet attendance on her. It's made me rather sentimental and gooey about the the breed.

they are lovely dogs. they're one of the breeds I've always fancied having some day. I won't, because after Spike I'm hopelessly, permanently fixated on Border Collies, but I retain a very soft spot for them.

yayyy!
