You know those poems you find on animal rescue homepages, and occasionally as signatures to animal rescue people's emails? If you have no idea what I'm on about there's a fair example of the genre on this page.

I can't ever look at one, even the laughably badly-written ones, without bursting into tears. And I don't need it, you rescue people. I may not be a very big or active part of the solution but I've always tried hard not to be part of the fucking problem. STOPPIT NOW. You're preaching to the fucking choir.

While you're at it, you can stop with the all-caps, the ~~~~~ and the **** *** *** in your damn transport emails too. I just have to strip the fuckers out when I crosspost and it's ANNOYING.

Lizzums, I have a drive for life request. It seems that some transports come through Ontario (http://community.livejournal.com/driveforlife/1282338.html#cutid1 as an example), but there's no Ontario tag. Is it just because that one was already filled, or something else?

I'm hoping maybe being on the east coast now, I can actually help do a few transports. None came through BC.

There SHOULD be an Ontario tag. I'm not going to add one right now because it's Friday and Saigh would just have to strip them all out tomorrow, but after this I'll make a point of tagging all the entries that get posted without them.

It's because we have a few crossposters that do it off their own bat without having been Saigh-trained and they're not as anal as we are about dotting T's and crossing eyes. I'm not about to discourage them by nitpicking their formatting, but tags are important; it won't take much for me to go through putting them in.

And YAY! We actually do normally get quite a few for Ontario.

the one on that page is pretty laughably bad. Transport emails are among the most annoying emails ever, and you deserve a metal or something for cleaning them up and making them coherent.

It's a TERRIBLE poem. It's the subject matter that gets me, because, Vogon-quality verse or not, it's still true in all the ways that matter.

I just wish I didn't keep running across it. It's REALLY not a thing I need reminding of and all it does is upset me uselessly.

Also, I'm trying to convince the adoption coordinators at the Hedgehog Welfare Society to post to driveforlife (or at least send a crosspost request) for any upcoming transports resulting from the giant texas bust.

i keep an eye on dfl regularily for any opprtunities near me!

Tomorrow I'll point Saigh at this comment and get her to tell you exactly who they need to email if they want hedgehogs shifted. That would be seriously awesome, I'm pretty sure we've never had a hedgehog transport in the comm. Geese, ducks, the odd parrot that I know of but no hedgies. EXCUSE TO USE HEDGEHOG ICON YAY!
