...holy crap, half an hour went by fast.

Please, please, people, leave some comments, leave something, anything to let me know you're out there. Please?

I felt prepared for this last year. This year, I know what to expect and not only do I not feel prepared, I feel defeated before I've even started. I only have a handful of sponsors (partly my fault, I haven't been very effective with the pimping) and I already feel sleep-deprived and it's only 2.30pm. I know from last year that my hands are going to feel as though they've been slammed in car doors before I'm halfway done, and ...I'm just feeling very trepidaceous.

That doesn't mean I'll be giving up, mark you. I never, ever, ever give up. I guarantee you I'll still be here in 24 hours' time, and again in twelve months. I'm just saying I would really, really appreciate some help. Please.

GOOOOD MORNING BLOGATHON!

And so it begins. Come with me, as I spend the next 24 hours descending from the substandard to the ridiculous and back again. Some bloggers have themes, some do giveaways, some have detailed plans of everything they're going to write about, some do terribly serious thought-provoking posts about their chosen charities... but me, I just make it up as I go along.

Things I hope to feature over the next 24 hours include dog pictures, cat pictures, videos, music, the Dogwarts Sorting Hat, voice posts, random and not-so-random polls, and - providing she remembers the instructions I gave her for leaving comments, MY MUM!

Before I hit "post entry" on this, the first of way too many Blogathon entries for this year, I'd like to beg you to please, please sponsor me. You still can, even though I've already started. The link is here and also at the top of my links list over to the side there. I've got far fewer sponsors this year than last year, and that makes Spike sad.

See you in half an hour!
I was reminded twice yesterday that I've not made an LJ entry for over a week. Well, I could make excuses - I'm saving myself for Blogathon at the weekend and Spike and his tuggy have done for one of my wrists - both of those would be true, but they're not the real reason. The real reason is that I'm caught in the grip of an obsession that isn't leaving much time, mental energy or typing strength over for anything else.

I'm sorry. I still love everyone. But it's so damn good.

Besides, you'll have more than your fill of me over the weekend. I'm slightly dreading the Blogathon, but I'm certainly not ducking out. And I take this opportunity to beg you, prettily and impassionedly (is that a word?) to sponsor me. Pleeeeeease!

Oh, and there was the new Harry Potter. I'm saving my typing strength, so if you want to know what I thought of it, go read [livejournal.com profile] toft_froggy's review here. Spoiler-heavy, obviously.

Other things that I am infatuated with right now: 1. Captain Tractor. (official band website with sound.) Particularly this track, which is this entry's soundtrack. I urge everyone to listen to them and buy their stuff. Also, if I get at least three more sponsors for Blogathon, I will make a voicepost of myself singing their best-known song, "The Last Saskatchewan Pirate". (Or, if you'd rather, you can bribe me not to. I win either way.)

2. Russell Crowe. Not only for the obvious reasons (sex on legs, snarky bastard, did not make a pig's ear of playing one of my favourite fictional characters ever) but for random acts of kindness and for ...reasons both too convoluted and too nerdy to explain in a public entry. Anyway, I luff him.
