there's one huge fucking problem with dogs like mine in an area with great big mature oak trees every fifty feet.
there are squirrels EVERYWHERE. there are always squirrels round here but right now is peak acorn time and squirrel mating season and we can't even go round the block for a morning piss without two or three chasing each other ten feet in front of Spike's nose.
one of these days my arm is just going to pop off, and they'll take off merrily after the squirrels trailing their leashes behind them, arm and all.
I had to have a quick tuggy session to let off some steam and I came out of it with a bitten finger, a bitten elbow and a nipped tit, complete with rip in t-shirt. this is excessive even by Spike standards.

so, one of my cats mutilated my right tit last night.
He didn't mean it, of course. I was picking kittens out of the utility room yesterday evening after three of them managed to shut themselves in there while I was otherwise occupied. Cassie and Naamah walked back out the door but Hamish-Bladekitten decided to back further into the room, so I picked him up before he disappeared behind the fridge.
He's actually OK about being picked up, although he'd rather I didn't. But I swept a bottle of blackcurrant squash off the top of the fridge with my elbow, and Murphy's Law states that could only happen while the only one of my cats who'd be freaked out of his wits by that was clasped to my chest. So he shot out of my arms like a barbed wire bottle rocket, and I have two sets of matching front claw rakes on my arm and one set of deep rear claw gouges on my tit.
The clawmarks on my arm are nearly three inches across from toe to toe. That cat's got paws on him like a frigging tiger - I swear he's going to be bigger than Spike when he's full grown.
